Senior Software Engineer | Remote

You’ll join a nimble, all-elite remote team that has strong traction, yet is early enough for you to make a real difference (and hold significant equity). Your primary responsibilities will encompass our entire Google Cloud Platform back end. If you have full-stack skills, occasionally extending our internal and customer-facing web apps would be helpful. Specifically, you will need to:

• Understand customer requirements in depth

• Negotiate trade-offs with product management

• Propose priority and resource tradeoffs

• Design features to meet requirements

• Document them in stories and epics

• Implement them via clear, maintainable code

• Ensure test coverage in keeping with policies

• Maintain clean, extensible architecture

• Identify platform improvements to facilitate growth

• Assign tasks to junior developers

• Review other developers’ code

• Create technical documentation

• Train staff on software use

• Interact directly with customers

To accomplish these responsibilities, you’ll need:

• Clarity in written and verbal communication

• Ability to architect sustainably

• Depth with data structures, algorithms, and clean software abstractions

• Understanding of multithreading

• Advanced coding skills in Python

• Knowledge of industry best practices in coding

• Clear understanding of modern development processes: agile, CI/CD, Git

• Good interpersonal skills

These skills would be desirable:

• Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform: Application Engine on Datastore

• Working knowledge of Flask, Jinja, and Javascript
